As part of our continued commitment to transparency, we are sharing the transition timeline for the closure of Mt. Vernon-Ruth Elementary and the Rutherford Opportunity Center. This outline provides key milestones and supports to ensure a smooth and student-centered transition.

At the beginning of the 2025-2026 School Year, Rutherford County Schools will transition to a 9 week grading period.

Roadways across the county are in good condition following yesterday’s light wintry precipitation. Rutherford County Schools will operate on a regular schedule today, Thursday, February 20. As always, please exercise care on area roadways.
