Rutherford County Schools celebrates 4 new National Board Certified Teachers. These teachers join a growing community of Board-certified teachers, now more than 118,000 strong across all 50 states. Each of these accomplished educators earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement through a rigorous, performance-based, peer-review process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement.

High school seniors at R-S Central, East Rutherford, and Chase high schools participated in College Application Week October 21 – October 25.

The Chase High and East Rutherford Speech and Debate teams competed and won several awards at regional tournaments at North Mecklenburg High School and Bob Jones Academy on October 12 and October 19.

Students in the Chase High Media Center used Rubik's Cubes to create a mosaic of the school mascot. Chase High Media Specialist, Lisa Randlett, said the activity in the "Maker Space" promotes 21st century skills like problem solving and critical thinking.
